Your activity stays with you.

Makebar measures the balance between creating and consuming on your Mac. Activity stays local; purchases and license activation use a separate online service.

On your Mac

App names, website hostnames, classifications, time totals, and analytics stay in local storage. We do not receive this activity history. Optional Chrome and Safari connections read the active website; full URLs and page content are not saved. Chrome private windows are excluded. Safari does not identify private windows, so pause tracking when browsing privately. Trial state and activation records are kept in your Mac’s Keychain.

Purchases and activation

When sales open, Stripe will process payment details. The licensing service will store the purchase email, order reference, license status, and random installation identifiers to manage up to five Macs. Activation sends the license key and a random installation ID, not browsing history, hardware serial numbers, or app activity. A signed receipt lets an activated app work offline.

Website and email

Vercel hosts this site and its licensing service; Neon stores commerce records. Hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the service. Resend will deliver purchase and recovery emails when email delivery is enabled. These pages use no advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Your language preference is saved only in this browser.

Referral links

Following a Makebar referral link saves its code in this browser for up to 30 days, solely to attribute a later purchase. No activity from the Mac app is involved. Referral enrollment is not yet open.

Your choices

You can pause tracking, disconnect browsers, export history, or delete local activity in the app. Commerce records may need to be retained for accounting, support, and legal obligations. For purchase help, license recovery, or privacy requests, contact team@nilho.com.
